Feeding food to stray animals (Service)

As a CAS service, I have been feeding food to stray animals. I feel that this is important because these animals are in need and I enjoy helping them. I have been doing this for a few weeks now and it has been a great experience. I have met some really nice animals and I have been able to help them. I am happy that I can help these animals and I hope to continue to do so in the future. The LO’S covered are(2,3,4,6,7).

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

The challenges undertaken were : It is important to research the local laws and regulations regarding feeding animals. In some areas, it is against the law to feed stray animals. It is important to be aware of the risks associated with feeding animals. There is a risk of contracting diseases from animals, and it is also important to be aware of the potential for aggressive behavior. I have been developing new skills in the process of feeding food to stray animals. I have been learning how to cook different types of food, how to package the food properly, and how to store the food so that it stays fresh.

LO3:Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

This experience required planning as first I purchased food specifically for the animals. Once you have gathered the food, you will need to create a feeding schedule. This schedule should take into account the animals’ schedules and habits and the I identified a group of stray animals to target to feed and then after that I planned for disposing the waste.

LO4:Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

CAS experiences feeding food to stray animals is a great way to show commitment to your community and to those in need. It is also a great way to learn about the cycle of food and how to be self-sufficient. This experience can teach you how to persevere when times are tough and to be grateful for what you have.

LO6:Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

There are many issues of global significance that we can engage with through our service work. Feeding food to stray animals is one small way that we can make a difference in the world. Feeding food to stray animals is a small act of kindness that can have a big impact. Not only will the animals be fed, but we will also be providing them with much-needed love and attention. This act of compassion can help to create a more compassionate world.

LO7:Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions

When we choose to feed stray animals, we need to be aware of the potential impact on the animals and the environment. The act of feeding stray animals can have several consequences. First, it can lead to those animals becoming dependent on humans for food and losing their ability to fend for themselves. Second, it can attract other animals to the area in search of food, which can lead to increased competition for resources and potential conflict. Finally, if the food we provide is not nutritious or is not properly disposed of, it can create environmental problems. While planning this experience this was all kept in mind .
