Volunteering in Swappers stop event (Creativity , Activity)

I recently volunteered at my school’s swappers stop event which was organized by my fellow classmates , which took place at 2nd of august . It was a great experience and I was in charge of the games section of the event and I learned a lot about the importance of recycling. I also got to see the positive impact that volunteering can have on the environment. The event was organized by a group of students who are passionate about environmental sustainability. They did a great job of educating the attendees about the importance of recycling, and how it can make a difference in the world. I was really impressed by their dedication and commitment to making a difference. The LO’S covered are (1,2,3,5,7).

LO1 :Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

For me, one of my strengths is organization. When I volunteered at the swappers stop event in school, I made sure to keep everything organized so that the event ran smoothly. I also enjoyed interacting with the kids and helping them with their projects.
However, I identified an area for growth as being more outgoing. I tend to be shy when meeting new people, but volunteering is a great opportunity to practice socializing. I made an effort to talk to as many people as possible and I had a lot of fun doing it.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

One of the challenges I faced was working with a team of people who were all new to the event. I had to be patient and explain things clearly so that everyone could be on the same page. In the end, we were able to pull off a successful event thanks to everyone’s hard work.
Another challenge I overcame was dealing with last-minute changes. We had to be flexible and adapt to the situation so that we could still deliver a great experience to the participants.
I’m proud of how I was able to step up and meet these challenges head-on. I’ve developed new skills that I know will be useful in future endeavors.

LO3 : Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

I volunteered in the swappers stop event with CAS learning out to demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience. I was responsible for setting up the games event, organizing the activities and games , and making sure everything ran smoothly. It was a great opportunity to learn more about CAS and how to effectively run an event. Overall, it was a great experience and I’m glad I had the chance to be a part of it.

LO5 : Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

At this event, a group of four people worked collaboratively. We used to talk about what games we would make them play, so we decided to divide the work and assign each person a different category to work on, such as one person looking for the logo, another for the tagline, one doing the chart paper work, and one going to get printouts, cut them, and organize it perfectly. The benefit of working together was that we were able to complete tasks quickly after dividing the work among four people, and we also got to know each other’s skills, which they demonstrated.

LO7 : Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions

The event’s goal was to get people to stop using single-use plastics and start recycling more. I had a great time volunteering and even learned a few things about recycling . By participating in a school-wide event called “Swappers Stop.” One thing I learned was the significance of ethics in our decisions and actions. We must consider the impact of our choices on the environment and on others. We must also consider the ethical implications of our actions. This was a valuable lesson for me, and I’m confident it will help me in the future.
