Feeding street dogs

For this experience, I went with my friend to feed street dogs in different areas of the city as an act of service, for a few days in a week. As dogs are animals that I personally care about, it helped motivate me to work towards the goal and feed as many street dogs as possible so that they don’t starve. Nearly 20,000 dogs in my city area are living on the streets, and probably starving to death. However, since reaching out and helping each and every dog wasn’t possible, we tried to visit different areas of our city and help as many dogs as we could.

LO3: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

A very major challenge was to be able to go to a lot of different areas in the city and feed as many dogs as possible since travelling from one place to another takes up a lot of time if we try to cover so many places. New challenges help learn new qualities and skills like this challenge helped me learn how to manage time and reach towards my goal by working harder, because of this we were able to help more dogs than we thought we could.

LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

Since it was difficult to travel and took a lot of time, it was also very tiring to go from one place to another, so to commit to this experience it was important to prioritise achieving the goal and feeding dogs in all areas that were previously decided. However, caring about dogs acted as a huge motivation to save as many of them as I could from suffering.

LO6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

This experience caters to the 15th SDG, life on land. This will contribute to dogs that are a part of the community of animals living on land and are struggling for their survival. This experience contributes to helping that community in terms of basic necessities like food.
