FSMUN and IPMUN (Creativity)

I attended my MUN. I always wanted to attend the MUN but I was very shy and didn’t had that much confident to speak in the committee. I had chosen lok sabha in the MUN. I regularly watch lok sabha and knew the basic format. I was well prepared with my research. MUN is definitely a event which suits me as we have to communicator our ideas, collaborate in a group and social bonding event are very much fun.

LO 1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

My biggest strength was communicating skills and research skills. I was well prepared for the MUN. I had strong point to put up in the discussion. I developed my communication skills in MUN. Due to my good communication skills and good research. I got special mention award. The feedback I got was repetition of the point. I feel I can improve my research skills and get myself strong point with supporting evidence which can help me in upcoming MUN.

LO 2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.

During the MUN, there were many times where I wanted to speak but the chair was not allowing me, I didn’t had patience and interrupt in between. I feel listening skills and having patience is one of the biggest challenge I faced. I had to give others chance to put up their point. Organizing my research was also a challenge for me. There were many point and evidence but in a plain doc. Organizing the events and point was a big challenge for me.

LO 3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

Even though this was my first MUN. I had a role of Adhir ranjan chowdhury. who is the leader of congress in lok sabha. I had to speak for my party. I had to initiate and plan each and everything for my party(INC). I had to make groups, give my members work and come up with strong point. Planning is very much important. I had decided I would take 1 hours before my bedtime for research. I did this for a week. I had to re plan my schedule for MUN.

LO 4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

As mentioned above, my role was very much important and I had to give my efforts and time for research. Taking out time from my schedule, there were many deadlines and submission during the MUN. I showed commitment and even though it became tough for me to take out time. I stretched myself and didn’t give up. I gave all the efforts to the MUN.

LO 5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

One of the most important part of Lok sabha is we are working in a group. I was in INC party. We had 6-7 member and we all had to work together to prove our points correct. The benefits of working collaboratively is we get to know many facts and evidence which we have missed, we get feedback from our peer which helps us to improve. We get moral support during the discussion.

To sum up, I feel MUN was a worthwhile experience. It helped me to improve my communication skills and research skills. I want to attend more MUN in the future.
