Garba Fest Food Stall

I had the opportunity to organize a food stall at a Garba Fest in my school, which was an excellent opportunity for me to put my leadership and organizational skills to the test. This experience enabled me to reflect on various learning outcomes, including LO1, LO4, and LO5.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth:

During the planning and execution of the food stall, I was able to identify my strengths and weaknesses as a leader. One of my strengths was being able to delegate responsibilities effectively among my team members, which helped to ensure that we were able to meet our goals efficiently. However, I also recognized that I needed to work on my communication skills to ensure that everyone was on the same page regarding the tasks and objectives. We also donated all of our earnings and leftover clean food to people in need.

LO3- Initiate and plan a CAS experience:

To initiate and plan the experience, I started by researching and identifying different food options that would be suitable for the festival. I consulted with some of the local food vendors and conducted a survey to get an idea of what the attendees would prefer. Based on the feedback received, I decided to offer a variety of vegetarian dishes and snacks that were popular in the community.

LO4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences:

Organizing a food stall was not an easy task, but I remained committed to the project from start to finish. This included attending regular meetings with my team, working late hours to prepare and set up the stall, and managing unexpected challenges that arose during the event. Despite these challenges, I remained dedicated to ensuring the success of the project, and we were able to achieve our goal of raising funds for a local charity.

LO5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively:

Working collaboratively with my team was an essential aspect of the success of the food stall project. I recognized the importance of delegating tasks and relying on my team members to contribute their unique strengths and perspectives. Through this experience, I developed my ability to work effectively in a team and learned the benefits of collaboration in achieving a common goal. We worked as a team to make food items which we were best at each like drinks

Overall, organizing a food stall at a Garba Fest was a valuable experience that enabled me to develop my leadership and organizational skills while also recognizing the importance of perseverance and collaboration in achieving success.
