Volunteering in Swappers Stop Event ( Creativity and Activity )

I recently volunteered at my school’s swappers stop event, which was organised by my students and held on August 2nd. It was a fantastic experience, and I was in charge of the event’s games part, where I learned a lot about the necessity of recycling. I also got to observe how volunteering may have a beneficial impact on the environment. A group of students who are serious about environmental sustainability arranged the event. They did an excellent job of informing guests on the value of recycling and how it may make a difference in the world. Their enthusiasm and commitment to making a difference really impressed me. The LOs covered are as follows: (1,2,3,4,5,7).

LO1 :Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

Organization is one of my abilities. When I volunteered at the swappers stop event at school, I made certain that everything was well-organized so that the event worked smoothly. I really liked connecting with the children and assisting them with their projects.
However, I noticed a potential area for development as becoming more extroverted. I am shy when meeting new people, yet volunteering allows me to practise socialising. I made an attempt to speak with as many people as possible, and I had a great time doing so.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

Working with a team of people who were all new to the event was one of the hurdles I faced. I have to be patient and straightforward in order for everyone to be on the same page. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, we were able to pull off a wonderful event.
Dealing with last-minute modifications was another obstacle I conquered. We have to be adaptable and flexible in order to provide a wonderful experience for the attendees.
I’m proud of myself for stepping up and facing these issues straight on. I’ve learned new talents that I know will come in handy in the future.

LO3 : Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

I volunteered with CAS at the swappers stop event to teach how to initiate and prepare a CAS encounter. I was in charge of organising the games and activities, as well as ensuring that everything worked properly. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about CAS and how to organise an event successfully. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it.

LO4 : Commitment to the task and perseverance

Volunteering for this event required me to do it from the heart, to demonstrate my devotion throughout the event, and to display my finest performance by making the audience play games related to business managment subject .

LO5 : Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

A group of four people collaborated on this event. We used to discuss which games we would force them to play, so we decided to divide the work and assign each person a different category to work on, such as one person looking for the logo, another for the tagline, one doing the chart paper work, and one going to get printouts, cut them, and organise it perfectly. Working together had the advantage of allowing us to finish jobs quickly after dividing the work among four persons, and it also allowed us to get to know each other’s skills, which they displayed.

LO7 : Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions

The purpose of the event was to encourage people to stop using single-use plastics and start recycling more. I had a terrific time volunteering and even learnt a few recycling tips. By taking part in the “Swappers Stop” school-wide event. One important lesson I learned was the importance of ethics in our decisions and actions. We must examine the environmental and social consequences of our decisions. We also need to think about the ethical implications of our activities. This was an important lesson for me, and I’m convinced it will be useful in the future.
