Karma kitchen

Learning outcome 1 (Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth):

Before beginning my volunteering job, I had kept my weaknesses in mind. One of my major weaknesses has been, to communicate with others, especially strangers. This weakness was developed due to the pandemic, when my social interaction has decreased to almost null. Based on my strengths and weaknesses, I decided to ahead with this experience and developed my social skills overtime. As I interacted with many people, I started to build confidence. I chose this opportunity because thought I am not confident in talking to many people, I still enjoy it and I also enjoy spreading happiness this activity spread more happiness.

Learning outcome 2 (Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process):

This experience was a personal challenge for me as due to lack of motivation at the time, I was convinced into doing this activity, as I was nervous to communicate with strangers. It was an unfamiliar environment for me, so I had to ask many questions before taking any steps. Slowly, I understood the process and stopped asking questions.

Learning outcome 3 (Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience):

This activity required me to ask many questions to the instructors, to prevent me from doing something that could harm anyone. Instructors guided me whenever, it was needed.

Learning outcome 4 (Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences): karma kitchen is a volunteer driven experiment, that helps us deepen our engagement with the community and spread the chain of gifts to others. it is organised on the first Sunday of every month and I decided to take part in it as a great way to learn more about giving back to the community, and being a volunteer is such a great initiative to learn about kindness and improve my moral grounds
