self well being – Activity.

One’s health and well being is one of the most important aspects of their life. If one is healthy, they have the ability to do as they desire in life. Being healthy and having a good lifestyle, brings motivation and confidence along with it. being healthy also keeps you from diseases like heart attack and cancer, and will also keep u fit to fight off cold and cough that happens commonly due to weather change. Working out is one of the ways one can maintain their physical health intact and it also helps their mental health as working out releases hormones such as endorphins and dopamine which makes us feel happy and exciting, basically helping us feel motivated to do tasks that need to be done.

During the pandemic, I started to notice that my physical and mental health and well being started declining. I started to feel lazy to do almost anything like wanting to study or even get out of my bed and I had no motivation left inside of me, I didn’t even feel like cooking or painting, which are some of my favorite activities to do. I also started to gain a little fat which started to make me lose confidence in myself and I would always be insecure about it.

So for this CAS experience, I had planned a mild but full body workout for myself that I will follow each day catering to a different part of my body for two weeks, and then I will continue it on regular intervals after 2 weeks. I wanted to do this because I wanted to take care and improve my physical and mental health. Following the SDG 3 which is ‘good health and well being’.

In this cas project, I have displayed LO1 (Identify your own strengths and develop areas for growth):

Because for this, I had to identify my not very healthy body and what areas i could hope to grow at and what improvements I could make in my own self. As in at first I could not exercise for extended periods of time and my strength was also very low, it was hard to maintain consistency while working out, at first, I would to take longer breaks between sets and feel very demotivated when I could fulfill my expectations of completing a workout exercise. But by experiencing this I could identify that my area of growth was: To develop my strength so I can last longer while working out and so I can be consistent.

I also displayed LO3 (initiate and plan a CAS experience)

as for this cas project, Firstly, I had to plan how I will workout and what exercises I would choose, so to be safe and accurate, I decided to use the app ‘Nike Training Club: Fitness’ for my very own workout plan as I have received feedback from friends and family recommending to use this app for workouts. And I have planned to do this workout everyday for a month.

I also displayed LO4 (commitment to and perseverance) As for this CAS project I had to keep myself disciplined and work on myself more than I had been. I had to keep my commitment towards my workout plans and continue to do them every day without fail.

For this project, I had to display the learner profile reflective as I realized what I could improve about myself and I decided to improve it too, which took commitment and constant motivation to keep working towards. I worked to understand my strengths and weaknesses in order to support my learning and personal growth. this also helped me improve my mental health as it felt like an escape.
