Volunteer at Anand Utsav

(L5-. Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively; L7-Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions )

Anand Utsav was an event that was organized by some of my classmates. It was an event that was organized to support administrative staff to make them feel welcome. The staff was expected to participate in various activities which were being held by the students. Working collaboratively with other volunteers was a fruitful experience and it taught me the importance of togetherness. Working in a team is something I find easy to do because I am very excited to work with other people and some part of me also gets excited by leading and managing people. Even though I wasn’t on the core committee, I was satisfied that I was able to contribute to this cause and learn new stories from the staff member of our school. Working together also helps me get exposed to new thoughts and ideas of other people. I was able to improve my social interaction, and communication skills and boost my confidence.

Another thing I had to manage while volunteering at this event are my ethics and choices. I had to maintain proper language with the school staff and my fellow classmates. I had to ensure that everyone feels welcome and not feel judged or excluded. I had to ensure that everyone is treated equally. My choice of words and actions reflect on the whole event and other members of the event, and hence, I had to ensure that I was cautious with the way I treat everyone.
