Learning Photography

Photography is a form of art that is very interesting and satisfying. I love to capture memories and moments which made me learn photography during this CAS experience. Photographs are a great way to recall past moments and feel them in the present. The learning objectives covered in this CAS experience are LO1 and LO2.

LO1(Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth) because photography is a skill of patience, timing, and presence of mind and I am a very impatient person which made it difficult for me to continue learning it. There are many instances when you need to wait for minutes to click photographs and wait and be still in the same position was not my cup of tea, but still, I pushed myself and clicked as good pictures as I could.

LO2(Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process) is also catered in the CAS experience because when you click a photo you need to keep in mind many different factors such as lightning, background, angles, etc. Moreover, you also need to learn the function of the camera. The camera I used was a Canon 1500d which is a DSLR and I used its user manual to learn the basic features. It was difficult to go to places and click pictures due to covid but whenever I went out with my family on a vacation I took my camera with me and tried to click as well as I could.

All in all, it was a great experience for me to learn how to click photos from a DSLR and how to use the camera. I was also able to understand the importance of patience and perfect timing from this experience.
