Table Tennis

I always wanted to learn the sport, table tennis also known as ping pong, and really wanted to play competitive since majorly all of my family members are great players of table tennis, so I started playing table tennis at my house first then joined an academy of table tennis and then I got to learn so much about table tennis from learning and playing with different players that I went to give my selection for Khel mahakumbh (a regional series of the tournament) although I didn’t get selected it was an enjoyable experience for me and I would love to continue it in the future aswell

the LOs I learned while performing this experience were LO1, LO2, LO3, LO5,

LO1 – Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth:

while trying to learn table tennis, I got to know how low my endurance actually was because while I went to the academy everyone other than me play so well and for so long. In contrast, I could barely play for 30 minutes straight, so I started breathing training and different training to level up the endurance that would not only help me in playing table tennis better but would make my life better by a lot more.

LO2 and LO3- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process & Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience:

managing time was the hardest as I had my grade 12 assignments to complete but I was so sure that I wanted to learn this sport that I had to switch my schedule and go to the table tennis academy early in the morning (6:30), and the thing is that I cannot sleep early and cannot wake up early in the morning since I am very lazy

this helped me wake up early and sleep early which helped my body get enough rest and more time to explore more and newer things.

LO5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively:

Since I am a sluggish person and introverted person I had to make one of my friends go to the table tennis academy with me so that I could practice with him in a duo team and play with him and learn with him and the benefit of working collaboratively was that we were pushing each other every time to go and not skip for 30 minutes of more sleep and we pushed each other every time at the academy to learn something new and get better in the sport
