Sketching, creativity

Sketching is my passion and I love to do it in my free time. So CAS gave me the motivation to do it on alternative days and spare some time for my passion. Sketching makes me happy and I enjoy doing it. When I go on trips or travel I live sketch the scenario. But for CAS I sketched a copy artwork of an artist. It was a typography artwork where the words are written in the background with a small font size. For sketching, I use shading pencils and I use different techniques to sketch.

LOR 1 = Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

My strength is that I have been practicing art since my childhood about 15 years so I have a lot of expeirence. Even I am able to make exact copy artwork of the original image, it takes a lot of time and patience which I lack. I get easily impatient and sometimes ruin my artwork, so I have to develop that skills. I still want to develop my finishing and my creative skills to do better sketching.

LOR 2 = Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

The challenges for me were that sketching was time-consuming and I was not able to spend much time due to my busy schedule. But on weekends and holidays, I was able to sketch during my free time. I want to develop my creative and sketching skills so that I could create better artwork. Even while I was sketching the copy artwork, I was not able to write the words in small fonts. It was the most difficult part of sketching. Even my artwork has a little big font compared to the original artwork., so this is an area of improvement I have to work upon.

This CAS expeirence was successful as I spared time for my passion and developed new sketching skills. So I demonstrated learner profile knowledge as I learned a new technique of typography. Also, I learned a different types of shading techniques like hatching, stippling, cross-hatching, contouring and blending
