Theory of Knowledge is one of the IBDP mandatory core component aims to provide an opportunity to student to think out of the box and reflect on the nature of knowledge. With this, We are also suppose to exhibit our essay on the day of exibitation. Through that, I volluntered as a decor team and got selected. This process will help me to develop new skills.

Before starting, I knew that it would be a bit challenging for me since, I barley plan the events. I liked event planning but due to ongoing assignments and deadlines, I was disconnected from this field since past month. Then, I got this opportunity to enroll as a decor team and I did it just to make sure that I build my weak parts and expand my strengths. By volunteering this event, I choose to focus on writing parts since, we were not allowed to get printed materials, With this, I can also expand my strength towards writing skills. Planning an event need a lot of hardworking and efforts to put in. While planning, this event I get to know my major strength and weakness. My major weakness was organization, due to a lot of work..my organizational skills were not used properly due to which there were problems about resources misplacment. However, due to my time management skill I can manage all academic deadline and exhibition work parallel to avoid any misunderstanding.

However, there were many challenges faced by during this process due to assignments and deadline because we also have to put major efforts to complete our individual TOK essay and working parallel for decor was sometimes very hectic because we need to give equal amount of time to both the things to ensure we get the best outcome. We also plan early-ins for few days to complete our project without any last-minute change. But, this was also not more efficient for a lot of people since, on in that particular month our school was also planning for class 12 farewell, so people participating in both the event had to sacrifice any one event. With this, I further planned that I will complete all my project work during my free-class so that I can also put equal inputs for my own individual exibitation. Hence, I also learned many things like time-managment, organizational skills etc. I developed new skills while working with this exibitation.

At first, creating and initiating a plan was the top most important thing before we start with the process, It was the toughest process. For this we need to ensure that all the planning, resources and stalls arrangement are ready a day prior to the event. The main idea for this event was “Khoj: the quest of knwoledge” as IB says this exibitation is aimed towards a better understanding and exploration of how TOK manifests in the world around us. We made a spreadsheet which was owned by TOK coordinators and our group to ensure that all the planning are going smoothly. We listed all the resources and student placements and planning checklist in the given spreadsheet to avoid any misscommunication and can be easily managable for us.

Here, I also demonstrated working collabrativly skills in order to make this event more successful. This was so much beneficial for me becasue in a group we can share differents ideas and came up with the best planning. It was on of the best team work. Here we also sacrific for each other to make the best event because sometimes there were problems where the people ideas couldn’t match and with that there were a lot many disputes but anyhow we managed to work collabrative to understand individuals strength and weakness and execute the event.

In all, The event was amazing and we got to learn a lot of things from this event. The learner profile I achieved was thinker and inquirer because as this was a TOK exibitation we need to plann something which is a vintage era because using party materials won’t work, So I inquired a lot and came up with the best possible way and help others to execute the event successfully.
