Farewell Organising – CAS

Farewell for the batch of 2022 was one of the most important event this year. I believe my organising and creativity skills can come in really useful in this event and thus decided to be a part of the organising committee. Throughout the experience I was able to learn and develop various skills and also build upon those. My communication and collaborating skills also made this event more effective and skillfull.

LO 1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

I was able to develop so many skills, including my passion for filming and taking pictures. I used communication skills in order to communicate with the other members and the team, and through this we were able to organise the event on time. As we were organising I was able to come with ideas that could help the event become fun and beautiful both at the same time.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

There were certain challenges that hindered the flow of the event as well as while organising the event. In order to overcome that we discussed our problems as teams and came up with the solutions. In the process I was able to learn various skills like how I can manage to organise the event with the help of the others and how things are divided so that each team member have a role in the event and helps us keep the event in flow.

LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences:

Despite the challenges we came across, we made sure that we kept things organised and things were committed effectively so that every organising team member would know when and where things were going to happen. We were committed to our roles, and my role was to film and keep things in flow. In the process I also helped a lot in the decorating sector since I did have the skills to help them.

LO 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

In this experience, organising, communicating and collaborating skills were the 3 most essential skills I was able to develop. Although we each had a skill set that could help in various purposes, however working collaboratively made the process way more faster and easier. Collaborating in a event like this was essential in order to have an efficient time managed event. My role was also to create the graphics for the decorating team.

LO 6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

We made sure that sustainability and waste management strategies that have been taught in our school are also demonstrated in this event. We did not sure plastic resources for the decorating part, because that would cause a lot of harm to the environment as well waste. So we did not use resources like, balloons, strings, etc. Instead we used the resources that are already provided in the school, and also reused resources like CDs and waste playing cards for decorating purposes. We ensured that we stick to a low budget but also have beautiful decoration with DJ.
