The issue I will be focusing on is waste segregation even though the government has started an initiative of collecting dry waste and wet waste differently but still due to a lack of awareness in society people don’t know what to put in wet waste and what to put in dry waste that is why I decided of speaking to different people in my society about segregation of waste. I have used Lo1, Lo2, Lo3, and Lo6 during this initiative.

I used the learner profile communicator during this initiative as I had to communicate with people in different languages as all people didn’t know English also I had to spread awareness about this problem and that is why for that I needed this learner profile communicator.

I used Lo1 which is, Identify own strengths and develop areas of growth, I identified my strength which is that I am fluent in English, Hindi, and Gujarati all 3 languages, and because I am fluent in all 3 languages I was able to spread the awareness in a very good manner as I was able to clear their doubts and also able to communicate in a language which they understand so the message was conveyed very clearly. I also identified my areas of growth which was I was not able to socialize with people easily which means I have to work on my socializing skills through which the message could be conveyed in an even better manner.

I used Lo2 which is, Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken so over here there was a very big challenge which was communicating with people with whom I don’t know and socializing with them also another big challenge was identifying the people that are not well versed with the concept of green and blue dustbins these were the 2 challenges that I faced.

I used Lo3 which is, Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience so basically first I went to all flats in my building and I asked them if they knew about these 2 kinds of dustbins or not, and then I made a poster and then the people who didn’t know about these dustbins I went to their home and explained to them I also asked workers in the building about the same and explained the 2 kinds of dustbins to them as well.

I used Lo6 which is Demonstrate engagement with the issues of global significance, so basically if waste is segregated in different dustbins it can be stored in an different locations also leading to recycling it as if anything is needed it can be taken from the particular landfill leading to more organization but if the waste is not segregated accordingly then organization of waste would be harmful and organization also makes it easier for recycling or disposal of the waste.
