Unitree- service

Unitree is an NGO that works with children with special needs to make this community happy by making new friends and meeting participants through volunteer activities. Volunteering with Unitree allows us to reach out to people with a variety of disabilities, including Down syndrome and other special needs. Volunteering with Unitree made me realise the importance of friends and they have a huge impact on our lives, It gave me a sense of peace and fullness and I made the most amazing friends there.

The most difficult aspect of the activity was that I couldn’t connect as much with the youngsters, but afterwards, we got along just fine. It was difficult for me because this was a new experience for me. I developed confidence in myself after completing this challenge since it helped me enhance my communication abilities. These abilities may be very useful in the future, assisting me in a variety of situations such as establishing new friends, applying for jobs, and to remain confident when approaching new people in different social settings.

While volunteering with Unitree, the worldwide issue that was addressed was inequality reduction. This is a worldwide concern because it is being witnessed everywhere. Inequality is harmful for society since it causes many difficulties for people, such as unemployment, a large disparity in salary between genders, a lack of education, and so on. Learning about such problems has helped improve my personal knowledge and helped me grow; by learning about them, I will also be able to raise awareness of them and contribute to their abolition. My participation in this CAS experience helped combat this problem.

Through my volunteer work, I have learned the importance of taking the initiative and planning to be successful. For example, volunteer events and meetings had to be scheduled in advance to ensure attendance. To be an effective volunteer, I had to take the initiative to learn about the organisation’s mission, values, and goals. I learned that children with special needs face more problems in making friends hence being gentle with them was very important. Moreover, showing them that they’re important meant attending each and every meet which needed a lot of time management from both our sides, taking initiatives to call them regularly that matches with our schedule also helped us both learn about our experiences.

The ethics of inequality are in question, It prevents people from accessing essentials and prevents receiving satisfaction. It is common that people with special needs have trouble making friends, since other often dismiss them and consider them to be inferior, which is completely unacceptable and is wrong. This issue had an indirect impact on me because I had not considered it before to meeting them. Despite the fact that these issues persist in the world, I did my best to make them feel equal and participating. My perspective on this subject has shifted dramatically since, prior to this action, I did not consider it a serious concern, but now that I do, I believe it is a major issue that must be addressed.
