(LO’s : Learning new skills and commitment to and perseverance)

I found drums really fascinating throughout my childhood but I never had the chance to learn how to play them, with the help of CAS I decided to take it up as a part of it and learn it. I learned to play drums in the school itself with the help of our teachers, I struggled a lot in the beginning as everything was very new to me.

LO 2 (Learning New Skills): Since I had never played drums before it was a completely new thing to me and having no idea how the parts function I had to start from the basics. The entire process took roughly 2 months, I made use of videos in order to reflect on my progression and work on it accordingly. I also feel it is a really important skill throughout because it helps with boosting confidence and also keeps me away from boredom and ultimately I make more productive use of my time.

LO 5 (Commitment and perseverance) : This activity required me to come early to school 3 days a week in order to attend the classes and also sparing some extra time from my schedule, I had to make sure that I attend every lesson without fail and stay consistent throughout. Since I had committed that I want to take this up as a part of my CAS it became even more important that I complete this without fail.

LO 4 ( Work collaboratively with others) : As I mentioned I was learning drums with 3 other classmates of mine we made sure that we reflect on each other’s performance so that we can benefit from the feedback we received. As a part of my final product, I tried to create or perform and record a song with my friends playing other instruments, it required us to collaborate and work on it together.
