LO’s : ( Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth, Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process & Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience)
In lockdown, my body fat percentage was upwards of 20% which is not ideal, especially for my body type. I decided to hit the gym just to reduce my weight and get into better shape, I started by researching and watching videos and with the help of that, I generated a workout plan suitable for me. Since I was new to the gym I felt that everyone was looking at me and while I was lifting very light weights I felt shy at first, I then started making friends at the gym and ultimately overcame this fear of mine.
LO 1(Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth) : This required me to work on myself as my aim was to lose weight and learn something new, I was not really into fitness hence this made me step out of my comfort zone.
LO 2(Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process) : While I was new to the gym it took a lot of time to learn and get used to all these things as in the beginning all that seemed foreign to me, I developed a new skill and by overcoming these challenges.
LO 3(Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.) : I had to create a weekly workout plan for myself as I had no idea I had to research what exercises aimed at which muscle group and what would be suitable for me. My aim was to primarily lose some weight hence I had to create a plan around that.
