I wanted to do something creative for a very long time so I tried nail art which I got to learn from a relative friend of mine. She does her nail art business which fascinated me as I saw her new, unique and impressive nail designs. Besides, recently, I have been noticing a lot of people getting their nails done so I got more inclined towards it and went to learn the same.
LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
My strength was that I quickly learned to use the tools to shape the nails, remove the dirt and give them a suitable texture. I frequently tried this process on my friend who taught me and it worked out quite well. However, I faced a lot of struggles to draw intricate designs such as even the simplest of thin lines and other patterns. This is because I have always been weak when it comes to drawing so I felt like this is not my type for a second but my friend motivated me to develop in this area of growth.
LO3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
I got the idea to learn nail art from the various kinds of nail designs that I found online plus the surrounding people whom I witnessed wearing beautiful nails on special occasions. Luckily, almost two months ago, I found the right person who guided me in this field. I went to her house mostly on weekends because of school and spent 2-3 hours understanding the process, learning the tools’ names and then going further. Since I am in twelfth grade and have a lot of academic work, I decided to reduce my visits of going to learn nail art and decided that I will properly resume during the summer holidays. Although I went to learn nail art for almost a month, I learn a lot of important things like sharing the nails, removing the dirt, making designs and a lot more things.
