LO’s

  • L1 (Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth)

I was able to recognise my own strengths and opportunities for improvement after the experience. I was able to paint, but it was quite disorganised. My painting abilities improved a bit from before, and I also made some progress in my social and communication skills as a result of this experience.

  • L2 (Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process)

I have always enjoyed painting and drawing. I devoted a year and a half attending drawing classes as well. We may unwind and calm ourselves by painting, and I consider this to be one of my skills.

  • L3 (Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience)

I have always been a giver, a person who will try to help others if its possible I alwasy planned to help children in need in anyway possible. When I heard about this event by the NGO Unitree I was ready to participate in the project where I will be collaborate with children who have down syndrome and help them paint the wall.

  • L5 (Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively)

In this CAS experience, we were participating in an activity of painting a wall for children affected by Down syndrome, helping them complete the task of painting. The wall and the painting overall was massive, we had to take responsibility of diving the painting and child among the volunteers. With dividing of work, collaboration among the volunteers and organizer helped with completing the task faster, better and more efficiently. The challenge of the limited time was completed with the collaboration of the volunteers and the children with quality too.

  • L6 (Engagement with issues of global significance)

This was a event where us volunteers came together with children to pain a wall, the children face a lot of issues in their daily lives one of them being treated differently, not getting enough by the society as people thought this problem is not significant in their opinion. while the children face problems daily. Being treated differently is a huge deal as these children don’t have a choice of choosing the life they want, and they are humans too, things that they cant choose cant defy how other people behave around or with them. This is a huge problem that they face and with this we are displaying that this problem is around the world and need focus upon it

  • L7 (Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions)

Down syndrome, its a rather complicated genetic disorder which can cause deformity in facial appearances, intellectual disability and developmental delays. The children who are affected by this already face daily problems in life, from early stage of developments to different treatment from people. The people affected by these don’t get a choice, which is why people shouldn’t treat them differently. As they are ordinary humans too, all of us are the same and just because they are affected by something that is not a very common or known to people, which is another people think its not significant to our society. Which is why I won’t be treating them differently and looking at them like one of us and not different. People cant choose how they are born which is why it is not fair for them to be treated differently on its basis

more.
