Swappers Stop – Project

Swappers Stop was an event that the BM teachers proposed to us. They wanted a team to manage the social media and give an identity to the whole event. It started off with a platform where students and teachers could swap their items for points and then use the same to buy new stuff.

I was the head of social media marketing and design. As a part of this role and the event, my team and I created a logo for the event and the name “Swappers Stop”. To make the event more interesting we decided to make reels and create posts for Instagram to create more interest.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

Attending the event was an invaluable experience for me as it helped me to identify my strengths and areas of growth in social media marketing. Through Swappers Stop, I learned how to effectively utilize Instagram to create creative and engaging campaigns. Additionally, I developed skills such as scheduling posts in advance using tools like Hootsuite which increased my efficiency significantly. The event also provided insight into new trends within the industry allowing me to stay ahead of competitors while better-understanding user behavior on each platform. Overall, this experience was incredibly helpful in furthering my knowledge of social media marketing and developing strategies that can be implemented with success moving forward.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

Covering an event in school for its social media account can be a challenging and rewarding experience. During my time covering events for the school’s social media, I faced many challenges that tested my creativity and communication skills.

One of the biggest challenges was trying to capture all the important moments from each event within a limited amount of time. Since I had to take pictures as well as write captions for them, it was difficult to make sure that nothing important went unnoticed or undocumented while also making sure that everything got posted on time. This required me to think quickly and stay organized throughout every event so nothing would get left out or forgotten about when it came time to post something online.

Another challenge I faced was creating content that would engage viewers while still being appropriate enough for younger audiences who may be viewing our posts on our page or other platforms like Instagram stories where anyone can see what we post without having any age restrictions in place… As such, this meant finding ways to create captions and come up with creative ideas around topics related to but not directly linked back too much to certain aspects of student life which could potentially lead to conversations better suited outside a public platform like social media. It took some trial-and-error before finally getting comfortable enough with coming up with interesting yet suitable content during these events but eventually things started falling into place more smoothly after gaining more experience over multiple occasions

LO3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

To make sure I completed the task in time and correctly with my entire effort I ensure that I create a full-proof plan for how I will carry out the shooting, editing, and also posting of the content. I sat down with my team and made a day-wise plan and started working instantly; all the way from branding the event to posting the final photo on the Instagram account.

I am usually very organized which makes projects like these go very easily and having this as a hobby is another plus point as I do not get bored of doing these creative tasks. Also, working with a team is not difficult for me at all and as that was not an issue as well.

LO4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

Planning the content for an event’s social media marketing is no easy task. It requires commitment and perseverance to ensure success. The activity was difficult as I had to carefully consider all aspects of the campaign, including its target audience, key messaging points, the timing of posts, and more in order to create a cohesive plan that would be effective in achieving desired results. This made me feel overwhelmed at times as there were many details that needed my attention; however, it also motivated me because I knew how important it was for the campaign’s success.

The commitment required to complete this activity included setting aside time each day dedicated solely towards planning out the content strategy while staying organized with notes and ideas so they could be easily accessed when needed during the execution phase of the launch.

It can sometimes still be challenging for me to commit myself fully or remain persistent when working through complex tasks showing commitment and perseverance is essential if one hopes to achieve any sort of meaningful results from their work effort. Showing dedication helps build trust between team members which ultimately leads to improved collaboration among them, thus allowing everyone involved to get the most out of their collective skillsets combined together to produce positive outcomes and project goals set forth initially.

LO5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

The social media that was curated for the event was made completely on the basis of skills; one who was good at recording, one for editing, one for content, one for photographs, and lastly a head to manage everything. This meant that everyone had to be o the same page before the event and also while the event was going on so that there was no problem getting everything together and making things look great.

In the end, because we were all working together we could come up with all the important aspects of the event and make it look great as none of us had missed anything important and everyone from the team had some or the other important part of the event. Having so much content helped us make an end-moment decision as well as make 2 final reels, one for the entire event and one for the “mini-concert” that happened during the event.

LO6 – Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

The entire event was based on swapping items that individuals had back at home with new items that they may want. This was an event to save waste and to ensure reusing all that we possibly can. Also, it was ensured that all the things that were done in the event were either reused or recycled; all the way from planning to executing the event itself. No new material or items were used in order to convey the message.

LO7 – Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions

It is very important that the choices made in the process are in favor of not only the marketing team but also the entire organizing team and the decisions don’t affect any other planning of other parts of the plan. These also have to be made in a way such that no harm is done to the environment and also is eco-friendly.
