MUN

Learning outcome 1 (Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth):

Before attending this activity, I kept in mind my weaknesses that were developed due to the lack of social interaction during the pandemic. I developed my social skills over the period of this activity, by running around the event, and helping the members when it was required, there were activities played in the event “ice breakers” in order to help make everyone feel comfortable. I took this opportunity to work upon myself and develop skills and expand my knowledge by listening to the delegated who were involved in the discussions. It opened my mind even further and intrigued me into continue delegating.

Learning outcome 2 (Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process):

This challenge was a personal challenge to me, as I was facing a lot of people for the first time, I had no idea how MUN’s work. Overtime with the help of the organisers and help from my peers, I realized the whole process, and began to help out the delegates I was meant to be helping. In the beginning I made a few mistakes, such as bringing the wrong item or entering and waiting at the wrong place. After a few minutes of getting comfortable I managed to understand, and prevented by not making any mistakes.

Learning outcome 3 (Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience):

This experience required numerous planning and execution. From the research about what MUN is and what my job will be as a OC member, all of this required knowledge and communication skills. I was able to continue with this activity with the help of motivation and support given by my peers, and the ice breaker activities, they helped me feel more comfortable and confident.

Learning outcome 4 (Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences): MUN is a volunteer driven experiment, that helps us deepen our engagement with the community and we are meant to help the delegates, staff members and Chairs feel welcomed, we help them whenever we were required to. I decided to take part in it as a great way to learn more about giving back to the community, and being a volunteer is such a great initiative to learn about kindness and improve my moral grounds.
