My friends and I organized a fashion show as a group project for CAS in FS got talent in school.
LO1:Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth.
When you leave your comfort zone, you identify things about yourself. I had no idea that I would be able to do these because I get really awkward when people are watching me or when I am on stage. so I didn’t want to do it but Fashion is something that I really like, so I did it and I was pretty good at it. It made me realize how much I liked and missed the stage. I used to do many stage performances, drama, and speech when I was a tween but IDK why but I left it . so this project helped me get over the fear that I developed somehow of stage and showed me that I was really great at it.
LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
For this, we learned the modeling walk and the straight face expression while walking throughout. Walking in heels and climbing down the stairs with heels while people are watching us and walking with the beats of the song that was playing was kind of a challenge to us but we somehow practiced it through and it help us even develop a posture.
LO3: demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
we had to meet before the event to organize it and we had to manage it based on the convenience of everyone. we first met to organize the outfits, then one day we met just to check the makeup looks and in school to practice the walk and decide the songs. We continuously met for many days to organize and practice it to make it happen.
LO4: show commitment to and perseverance to the CAS experience
We had to take this project seriously and show commitment to it to make it happen. If someone didn’t arrive or worked properly the event would not have been a success.
LO5:Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
As I have already mentioned the Importance of teamwork and working collaboratively was very important in this project.
LO6:Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance.
the models were of different body sizes. we wanted to show that whatever body type you have you are really beautiful . and we ended the show by showing a message to the audience” my body my choice”.
