Participating in A Charitable frisbee tournament

Frisbee as a sport was always very fascinating to me. It is a game played with spirit and is a team game. Whenever there were frisbee tournaments in the school I would participate. If given an option to play a sport during free time would be frisbee. During the pandemic I would always find company to play football but never had the opportunity to play frisbee.

When I came to know that some of my friends were organizing a charitable frisbee tournament, I convinced a few of my friends to participate in it.However due to sitting at home the entire year they were not very inclined to participate. So the tournament was in 2 weeks and we decided to play frisbee at school and practise a bit so that we can compete. During the practise we identified our strengths and weaknesses such as one of the members was good at defense, one had very good speed. We also identified which player would be apt for the position. This really helped us strategize our game plan.

There were 3 categories in the tournament: bronze, silver and gold. As the gold category had teams who played tournaments and were pros in this sport. In the silver category there were a few matches which were difficult for us and few which were average. Before registering we knew that the silver category was gonna be difficult for us however we accepted it as a challenge. We have to play a league which involved a total of 5 matches. The last match we had to play was the most difficult as we had to play back to back 2 matches. All of our players were tired and did not want to play.

Till now I had never won a frisbee tournament so I was motivated enough to play the last match however my peers were not ready. That’s when we saw a fellow member of the other team started cheering and motivating us. We knew what we had signed up for and had to show commitment and finish the last match. The last match was going to decide the champion of the silver category.
