Swappers stop was an event organized by the Business management and economics team. The event focused on promoting environmental sustainability. The event was based on swapping good quality goods which are not in use and can be swapped by other students. The event included sustainable decorations, sustainable invitations, food, music, and stalls for swapping items. Every time we stop using clothes, jewelry, old board games, shoes, etc we throw them resulting in a huge amount of waste.
Learning Outcome 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
While planning, we had to make sure that the event consisted of sustainable decorations with innovative ideas it was very challenging As a team, we decided to make use of waste resources available at our school and home. We made use of old worksheets, torn chart papers, acrylic colors, plastic bottles, and more, to come up with something creative. time management was also a challenging part for us and because we could not meet the deadline on time we were also called in early-in.
Learning Outcome 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
We were all able to cooperate and conclude on ideas quickly so no time was wasted during the process. All of us were creative-minded and brought something new to the table which enabled us to create beautiful decorations for the event. and also in decor team we always got creative ideas which was needed for the event so working collaboratively was very helpful.
Leaning Outcome 6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
The global issue was environmental sustainability so the creation of waste. This event focused on spreading awareness about the importance of economic and environmental sustainability with the reduction in wastage. As a volunteer, this experience taught me the importance of sustainability i have done a project exactly on the same lines so it gave me more motivation to do one more event like this.
