CAS-Making Caricatures (Creativity)

Caricatures are sketches (often painted) that depict a person in a funnier or an even intense way , I made these caricatures of the people around me , it helped my mind calm down , and also document the person on a piece of paper , which they could look at from time to time.

LO-1 (Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth) – My strength was my sense of humor which is an essential component in the creation of caricatures. The other important aspect of it is drawing and im not very good at drawing and drawing is something that one can get better after practicing , so my caricatures kept getting better with making them again and again.

LO- 2 (Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process)- what was challenging was the drawing aspect of it , as painting was relatively easy , so I just practiced sketching before and then started making sketches and painting them slowly and steadily.

LO-4 (Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences) – I did drawing daily and improved in it , I made sketches of many people then started painting them , slowly I started getting better at it.

LO-7 (Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions) – Sometimes I used to use photos of people to make caricatures and most of them were stock photos or online , or from a sketch artist friend of mine , The ethical implication was I never had verbal first hand consent from them , but I always made sure to send them their caricatures and never received any backlash for it

My final Takeaway from making caricatures is that it is a calming and fun way to make sketches of people and there is no scope of ugliness or mistakes as that is what makes a caricature even funnier.
