LO1: Cycling has always been my hobby and allowed me to enhance my physical state on daily basis. It became my strength over a long period of time and then now I have realized that despite not being a professional cyclist, my cycling performance isn’t bad. As it was a part of my everyday routine as physical activity, in a while I got obsessed with the same and improved upon myself. I realized the same being my strength when it started improving my stamina and endurance which eventually helped me to play better in other sports. Having knowledge about your own strengths will always make you feel better off and would give you a sense of accomplishment. Reaching that very zone would always boost my confidence and allow me to indulge in other activities with a positive spirit. Cycling didn’t have any weaknesses as such but when it comes to cooling down, muscles require a lot of attention to its relaxation. In the beginning, I didn’t give special attention to the same, but when the muscles got highly tensed in a longer run, I improved upon my relaxation process using my existing knowledge. Improvement in the process benefited me by keeping my body completely relaxed right after the activity.
LO2: Challenging part comes when I tried cycling a part of my schedule when it comes to inculcating the activity on regular basis. Also when I started timing my distance, it helped me stretch my muscles though in the start it took me time to get accumulated with the same. Though I realized that I can simply make cycling my physical routine and I replaced other activities with it. Something similar hasn’t been done before, but I have always tried varying my physical routine in order to know that what is the best thing for me. The challenge was overtaken as time passed by though I learned about organizing myself in a different way. Undertaking this new challenge allowed me to become more flexible, hence making myself open to new boundaries which might motivate me to ride for longer distances in the future. Undertaking new challenges just makes me reach new horizons for gaining wider experience.
LO3: Organizing for the CAS reflection plan was done based on a regular basis when the activity is inculcated in my daily schedule. I would usually be an organized person who would like to plan the week ahead, which allows me to make things go with the flow. Despite the planning being the easy part, initiating the same was a little difficult as it made me follow the completely new routine. During initiating the activity, I developed my cycling skills which allowed me to work on my physique. Planning should be done before the physical activity as it would allow me to stay focussed and on track to accomplish my goal completely. Knowledge about planning and initiating the activity allowed me to carry out the task in the right manner and it plays a vital role in the success rate of accomplishing the goal.
LO4: Perseverance got into the picture when there was no significant change in my physical performance for a longer period of time. Later when the improvement was observed in the performance, it made me feel confident and happy about the hustle. The commitment required was to do the activity on regular basis and follow the plan. Showing perseverance is important to accomplish the goals which last and hence it plays a requisite role in life. Committing to this activity was easy for me as I have always liked cycling since my childhood.
LO5: Working with others is generally easy for me as being an extrovert I can communicate with other people with ease. Communication is the key to teamwork and hence it gets much easier for me to collaborate in a team. Though this task was based on personal growth, there was no role played of working collaboratively with others. Working with different people is always a point where you gain experience wherein you deal with a wide range of people. Collaborative behavior allows you to stay flexible while you are with others around you and make them feel comfortable in order to work together. No inculcation of collaborative activity was required in this experience.
LO6: Climate change is very significant on the global level in order to sustain the world to live longer. While we consider my activity of cycling, climate change played a major reason in changing my schedules completely. In these winters, we experience fog in the early morning with a major decrease in the regular winter temperatures this year. Hence, I couldn’t include cycle in the morning which would have benefitted me in an organizational manner and managing my schedule. Being aware about the global issues like such would always give me an upper hand when I am with bunch of people in a room. Also if any situation rises, I can implement my knowledge about the same in order to reach out to the solution. Being aware about a global issue has always made me feel as a responsible human being.
LO7: Ethical issues weren’t involved in the activity while we consider cycling as one. There are any ethical issues involved in the community I live in and they do affect me directly or indirectly in many ways. When we talk about increase in the building of infrastructure, has destroyed many cycling roots in the city, though on the other hand now there are better concrete roads on which we can cycle.
