I joined a cycling club organized by some of my friends. My aim to join this club was to focus on my fitness. We went to Dumas by cycle 4 times a month. We went on every Sunday for some refreshment from the daily routine and also through cycling I can maintain my fitness. Cycling is good exercise and easy to fit in the daily routine so the group organizers made an idea to go to Dumas beach by cycling. Cycling helps a person to increase muscular strength and flexibility, strengthen the bones, decrease body fat level which is a good way to reduce one’s body fat, so I got interested in this activity and I joined the cycling club.
LO 1 – Identify your strengths and develop areas for growth
Through cycling, I would be able to shape my fitness and increase my stamina, strength, and aerobic fitness, and also to build up my muscles. Through cycling, I can reduce my stress levels, anxiety, and depression, moreover, I can reduce body fat, and improve body posture and coordination which helps me while doing other activities.
LO 2 – After joining the cycling club I completed 2 challenges one was that on Sundays I was not able to wake up early, in fact, I didn’t wake up before 9 am which was a very bad habit for me and also my father used to scold due to this problem but after joining the club I got a passion that “I have to wake up at 6:30 because my club must be waiting for me at starting point at 7 am so I should not get late and by sleeping early on Saturday nights and after putting 3 alarms I succeed to wake up early on holidays too. And another challenge was not to stop cycling to a longer distance which was a tough challenge for me because I stay 16kms away from the Dumas beach and also I don’t have a fit body so it was not easy for me to cycle up to long-distance but with the cheers from my friends and with the faith upon myself while cycling I succeed to complete this challenge too.
LO 6 – Global warming and climate change is a big issue which every one of us is facing in today’s life, so to reduce that my club members have decided to use cycles as a mode of transport which is first affordable to every member, secondly, it doesn’t affect the environment through any types of emission and also cycling is an easy way unlike other sports, cycling doesn’t require high levels of physical skills, persons once get how to ride a bike and once he/she learns they don’t forget that for rest of their lives. So due to this reason, my group members have selected bicycles as a mode of transport and made the ‘Cycling Club’.
