Crumple volunteer

As a part of this CAS experience I volunteered for the crumple project. This project is an initiative to recycle and reuse old people helping us fight many environmental problems and take a stand for our planet. Recycling paper also reduces pollution and paper wastage.

LOs:

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
As I had never tried paper making before, it was a bit difficult for me at first but after trying a few times I got a hang of it anf I think it was a pretty fun thing to do and enjoyed it, because of which I also tried it again at home. Since I do a lot of art I think this skill could come of help to me in the future.

LO5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
The collaboration during this experience was quite good, even the project initiaters did a good job with communicating everything well and also helping us learn this new skill and teaching us it’s procedure. Because of good collaboration we were able to avoid any obstacles. Since there were many people it also helped us make a noticable difference.

LO6 – Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
Handmade paper is a very good eco–friendly alternative as it is made from already used pages or newspapers thus doesnt require nore trees to be cut down for it. Climate change is a very big issue in the present, and deforestation plays a major role in aggrevating it, also the used paper gets thrown away and causes pollution which is also another cause of climate change thus this experience helped me to know a way we can solve this.

LO7 – Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions
This project is ethical and very helpful to the environment as it helps us work a little towards the global issues we are facing which can be a very big threat to our mother earth. Thus this choice was a very good one as it benefits me as well as my environment
