L1 Being interested in design and wanting to advance in the field, I wanted to learn about various forms of design, which is when I thought about learning graphic design. I also wanted to launch my art page, but I wanted to make it engaging and appealing, and graphics would enable me to do so. I therefore began my journey by studying graphic design. I started out by using a piece of basic software called “Canva.”
Canva is a graphic design tool that is really simple to use and has more than 500 pre-made templates for all occasions and purposes. I first studied the fundamentals using YouTube videos, after which I started investigating the elements, fonts, colours, and many other things. Then I started creating Instagram stories and posts for my arts account.
L2 Since I wasn’t familiar with design concepts, I first had trouble creating high-quality graphic work. So, I researched theories about Bauhaus, Gestalt principles, and color theory and saw several videos about typography. Following my comprehension and study of these theories, I put them to use in my visual creations. I was able to create a variety of posters, infographics, ID cards, banners, statistics, and other materials.
L4 : During my time in school, it was challenging to set aside time and find possibilities for excellent graphic design, so I simply watched videos to learn. But I used to spend an hour a day over the summer focusing on my artistic abilities. I found my style eventually.
Overall this CAS experience really helped me as a student , and as an artist. It was really productive experience and skill. I can now apply this in my everyday activities.
