The celebration cake workshop was an online cake workshop conducted by the very well known pastry chef Zareen Shaukat. Zareen has gained 7 years of experience in the field of pastries and now usually conducts online workshops as a way to kill her free time.
Since my mom is a professional confectioner, she gets really intrigued to observe women that are like her. Hence, she tried her online workshop in order to learn from someone that went to a different country to study. She encouraged me to do the same along with her. And so I did. Zareen Shaukat graduated from le cordon bleu London and is now a pastry chef based in Mumbai, India. I specifically chose to attend her cake classes because she is a pastry chef that can relate to my mom on a personal level.
Learning Outcomes In Focus:
LO2: Demonstrate challenges that have been undertaken, developing new skills In progress
Since Zareen is a professional pastry artist, it was extremely challenging for a beginner like me to create the exact same dessert. However I tried to bake one of the cakes that she taught that was a biscoff brownie cake that I tried to recreate. Something that was unfamiliar about it was the plum and rosemary cake and lime and lavender confetti cake that she created. These combinations are new to the ears and most people are not even aware of these combinations. However, these cakes were atrociously delicious and turned out pretty well from a beginners point of view. The process was extremely challenging, however I was determined to complete at least one of the cakes that she taught, and so I did.
