Teaching children is a task which I am really bad at, because it requires good communication skills and confidence to teach. I lacked both but through this experience, I learned to communicate better with children and gained more confidence when it comes to teaching.
I covered LO3 and in it, me and my other 2 teammates, we made notes of what we are going to teach and took those notes remember better. We first contacted the teacher and asked about their current syllabus and planned our sessions accordingly.
I covered LO5 and in it, after understanding their syllabus, we divided our roles when we went there to teach. This way we used each other’s strengths by choosing the subjects we were best at.
To cover LO6, we chose an only girls school and the school was for underprivileged children. This covers the global issue of quality education, women education and access to education for all.
For LO7, apart from teaching them only their syllabus, we also helped them learn techniques which might help them be better in their studies and understand concept better.
Overall this CAS experience was amazing and I personally had a lot of fun and learnt a lot.
