CAS PROJECT | FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT | CREATIVITY/ACTIVITY

Outdoor sports have always drawn my attention since I was little. I was interested in numerous sports. Over the years, they transformed. I enjoy a variety of sports, including football, cricket, swimming, ping pong, lawn tennis, rollerblading, and so much more. But football is my favourite sport and where I’ve achieved the most.I had always planned to run a tournament since it would teach me something and give me a sense of what it’s like to organise one. So, together with two of my other pals, I organised a competition for children under the age of 14 called APFL.

The project comes under both creativity and activity as

  • Creativity—exploring and extending ideas leading to an original or interpretive product or  performance
  • Activity—physical exertion contributing to a healthy lifestyle

LEARNING OUTCOME – 1

Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

Throughout the process, I noted a lot of strengths and weaknesses. Since there were 3, we divided the labour. As I was aware of my areas of strength, I chose the teams and created the league that would ensure the tournament’s success. Since communication was one of my weak points, I delegated the other tasks, such as purchasing the awards, medals, and meals, to my pals.

LEARNING OUTCOME – 2

Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

There were certain challenges undertaken when organizing this tournament such as arranging players but since everyone coordinated well and every steps were taken to make sure that there are no room for errors the tournament turned out to be pretty good and participants joined through friends and much more.my communication skills we developed alongside with the critical thinking skills on arranging the tournament.

LEARNING OUTCOME – 3

Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

initiating the plan was the main part of the project as it can be difficult but as we were 3 we split up the responsibilities to make the work easier. I decided on the teams and made the league have no problems and the other 2 people divided the work of purchasing the medals and beverages.I made GROUP A and GROUP B where there were 4 teams in each group and were decided by spinning a wheel who would go against whom to have no biased decision the same was done for the teams. there were 6 players per team. the league can be seen in the evidence below. planning out the tournament was the majority as it was a 1 day event, 7 matches were played, and each match was of 7-3-7 where 14 minutes of playing time and 3 minutes of half time. the player of the tournament was decided by the most goals scored by a player and much more was involved.

LEARNING OUTCOME – 4

Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

We had shown commitment and perseverance to the tournament as we had get updates everyday and get all the details from each other on how the plan is going and if there are any problems.we had take out our personal time for the tournament and make sure no problems occured.

LEARNING OUTCOME – 5

Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

There are many benefits of working collaboratively as the work gets divided which leads to less tension, stress and less time consuming as if i was arranging the tournament alone i would have to take care of all the things but as we were 3 we had the work divided which allowed us to make it easier for the tournament to be organized and much more.working collaboratively can always make a task easier. Communication skills were increased as we had learnt how to organize a tournament which lead to more socializing skills as we had to clear the doubt of errors.

LEARNING OUTCOME – 7

Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions’

As the participants of the tournaments were under 14 they were basically kids which means there where kids with the age of 8, 9 ,10, 11, 12, 13 and others too which means they were not fully matured to understand what a tournament is so making them understand how it works and allowing them to play with the responsibility of knowing how it works is another major part.We had to tell their parents why there was a need of 200 rupees as a entry fee and also explain them why it can help them how competitive of a sport football is.our ethics were based fairly even with dividing them teams which would also lead to a fair competition and enjoyable.

here is the evidence of the tournament below.
