Football

I have always loved to play football and have always to play more. For this particular reason, I joined a football class to ensure I stay in touch with the sport during covid and also maintain my physique as well as my skills.

LO1 – Identify your own strengths and develop areas for growth.

My football coach was able to point out my strengths and faults to me. I was unable to perform adequately since I lacked the stamina to run or jog for longer periods of time. I saw that my deficiency in endurance needed to be addressed. My position was goalkeeper, so during training, I discovered that while my jump and flexibility helped me to save goals, my reflexes were a little slow. I started working on improving them every day, and with proper training and dedication, I was able to overcome my weaknesses. As a result, I was also chosen for the team.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

For me, the biggest obstacle was becoming in shape to play football. Due to the COVID-19 scenario, I had to discontinue all of my physical activities, which greatly affected me and made me sluggish. I started taking football lessons, and on the first day of endurance training, I was so worn out that I thought I should stop because I still had bodily aches the next day. But as time went on, I began to get stronger and more physically fit, and I also picked up new kicking and diving skills that greatly improved my game and helped me enjoy playing and become successful at it.

LO4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

I made sure that attending these football classes/camps do not affect my studies in any case, for this reason, I made sure to balance my routine and ensured that I put in 100% effort in both places so that I keep on going strong for both cases. Also, I made sure that I do not miss any days of the class so that I can keep up with all the other members and ensure that I do not lose out on the physical activity parts. I also made sure that alongside playing, I maintain my diet and for that reason, I ate all 3 meals on time and ate proper nutritional food.
