I enrolled in a course offered by ‘Clever Harvey’ in association with Samsonite for data analytics and marketing. It was a 3 week course. During the 1st week of course, we were given an insight into the field of data analytics and were introduced to google data studio. In the next 2 weeks, we tried to understand more about Samsonite as a company in the sense of its target audience, its message, its marketing and sales strategy etc and created reports using the company’s data . Then as a part of our final project, we were supposes to select one of Samsonite’s product and create our own strategy report for the same including all the factors.
I did this course in order to gain a deeper knowledge about my career of choice and build my resume.
Learning outcome 3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
During the course, we used to have a session every day at the same time and with all the other things planned for the day, sometimes the timing wouldn’t be as convenient. Therefore, in order to avoid the missing of the sessions, I made sure that I got everything in order by making a to-do list and completing all my tasks before the beginning of the session. Doing the other work beforehand used to help me stay more focused and engrossed in it.
Learning outcome 4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
During the course, my laptop stopped working and it was in repair for a week. I didn’t have a spare one at the time, but somehow I managed to arrange another laptop by asking around and continued to regularly attend the sessions without missing any of them. I even completed the task given by them on time with a good quality.
Learning outcome 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively
For our final project, we were divided in groups of 3. There we were required to create a marketing strategy wherein we were supposed to consider a lot of factors and come with creative ideas. We worked on the project collaboratively and divided our work in order to produce better quality work. We set up calls and helped each other whenever required. By working together on this, we were able to combine a lot of our ideas and come up with unique marketing solutions.
Learning outcome 7: Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions
The data and the information that they shared with us of samsonite was private and we weren’t supposed to share it with anyone. So respecting their decision and using the data only for its intended use or purpose was me making an ethical choice.
