I volunteered on day at IPMUN Surat 2022. I worked for the committee, UNHSC, where I looked over all the needs of the delegates and the chairs present. I also helped with the decor. Overall, the experience was very fun as I got to work with my friends, and also got to learn and develop my skills.
LO 1: Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth. I enjoy MUNs, and this time instead of participating, I decided to volunteer on day to develop my time management and communication skills.
LO 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process. Though I just volunteered on day, I still spent three days at the venue. This required time management skills as we had strict timings, which if missed, we would not be allowed to enter the venue. This also required me to stay balanced, as I had to handle my school deadlines and the MUN timings together.
LO 4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences. I volunteered at the IPMUN even though I already had many deadlines and school work left because I knew I would benefit so much from it. I was committed to my role as I followed the instructions and timings, and was present at all times I was supposed to.
LO 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively. With me, many other people from my grade had also volunteered. I worked collaboratively with all my team members, and the OC members, which resulted in smooth and quick work. To do this, I demonstrated communication and social skills.
LO 7: Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions. IPMUN is very known and respected. To volunteer, we had to follow all instructions and be mindful of our choices and actions. We had to follow certain sets of rules and ethics such as formal dress codes, following the schedules, etc.
