This CAS experience was very heart-touching as we (Rishi Agarwal and Vedant Narola) fed homeless people and stray animals. We paired up and decided to feed people and animals every month and every weekend. The reason why we did this service, is we both live in the same area and we often see many homeless people and stray cows and dogs on the streets, begging for food. To show some humanity and express our feelings for society, we will make some changes to make the living condition of these people and animals better and try our best to not make them suffer from hunger. To make our project efficient and successful, we have decided to cater to some places in the Vesu area where there are most people begging for food. The LO’s we have accomplished are mentioned below:
LO-2 (Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken developing new skills)
There were many challenges faced during the process of our experience. As this was our group project lasting over a month, it was difficult to cater our time as we were busy with our own things and studies. Another issue faced was which all types of food to provide to these people and from where to procure the same.
LO-3 (initiate and plan a CAS experience)
Before initiating this experience, we had planned out a schedule mentioning the dates, time and place, etc. to provide food to these people. We were also well prepared for the procurement of the food, from where we will buy the food and which food items to be included.
LO-5 (Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively)
We had to collaborate for meeting up together and to go to give food to the people as we both had our busy schedules and we had to scoop out some time from our schedules and go together. Then also, for the pieces of evidence, we had to click some photos of the service we did so there also, while one of us was giving the food to the people/animals, the other person clicked the photos.
LO-7 (Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions)
As we were feeding the homeless people/animals in our area, which people don’t usually do so it was completely ethical and was the right thing to be done by us and was also expected of other people also.
