→ Crumple a group created by the students of grade 11 was made to spread awareness about the wastage of paper and about how we can recycle it and how to create recycled paper. This event helped in saving a lot of pages and also in spreading awareness about the harmful effects of deforestation. So this group helped in saving a lot of trees.
Lo-2 Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
→ There were many challenges undertaken such as making people aware of the harmful effects of paper making which is done by the process of deforestation which harms the environment and increases global warming. A lot of people were happy to volunteer in this event which made this event more successful.
Lo – 5 Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
→ The benefit of working together helped this experience to be successful as a few students managed to gather 90 people who approximately managed to make 110 pages in my batch. Later, these pages were used to create books that were donated to the poor and needy.
Lo – 6 Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
→ The issue which was undertaken in this project was that it wanted to spread awareness about the wastage of paper and the deforestation that takes place across the world. The organizing committee wanted to teach a method by which we can reduce paper waste and recycle used paper.
Lo – 7 Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions
→ The first question that comes to our mind while doing something for a global cause is that “How would I change the world just by working alone?”
I can say this as I can relate to this when I first heard about this project I also thought that how would my work would help in spreading awareness about deforestation but like the saying “Little drops of water,/Little grains of sand,/Make the mighty ocean/And the pleasant land./So the little minutes,/Humble though they are,/Make the mighty ages/Of eternity”.Finally, this project managed to create around 800 pages with a team of 90 people.
