6.Giving food to the ones in need. Service

my purpose for selecting this CAS experience was that I always love to give people something as seeing the smile on their faces after receiving something they need brings joy to my heart. I see a lot of homeless people on my way to school or even when I am going out with friends or family so I thought why couldn’t I just help out 2 or 3 people at one time but not a lot. the issue I will be focusing on is hunger. this experience comes sunder service as there is reciprocal engagement with the community in response to an authentic need.

the learning outcomes for this were Lo-2, Lo-6, and Lo-7.learning outcome number 2 was Demonstrating that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills. there were not many challenges that were undertaken throughout the process of giving food as it was easy to find a homeless family which made it easier for me to donate but there was only 1 problem which was taking photos with them as there was this awkward feeling but i had asked them if I can click a picture it’s for a school project and they happily agreed.

learning outcome number 6 was demonstrating engagement with issues of global significance. I demonstrated a global issue which is hunger. I took action locally to make responsible decisions as I always believe in giving back to people.

learning outcome number 7 was to Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions.i recognised the ethics of actions I was taking to some extent that if I am giving them food and clicking a picture i must ask them and also respect them and identify the right family people can get offended if you provide them food thinking they dont have it which could lead to some trouble.

the learner profile attribute is caring as I am showing empathy and respect towards them as I don’t take pictures of them every time I go and if I do I ask for permission from them. also, it makes a positive difference in their lives.

the conclusion of this CAS experience is that you should always give to people who are in need and always help someone out and bring a smile to their face.
