For this experience, we had to do any activity with kids who are suffering from down-syndrome. at challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
There were many challenges I encountered, a major one was inexperience in this field and lack of financial responsibility in the beginning. To overcome this, a spreadsheet was made where all the data regarding any transactions was recorded. I developed many skills such as advertisement and artistic skills specific to making the products.
LO3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.
To plan this small business we used a variety of tools like Google Sheets, notes, Notion to keep track of our orders, expenditure and prices. We also used Canva to make our logo. For planning we made use of drafts in Instagram and kept an organised list of what to post. I learnt how to apply classroom knowledge to the real world by using the planning, organisation and management techniques taught in BM class to our small business.
LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.
Making the products was sometimes a very time-consuming process and during exam weeks, it was difficult to take out the time. At many times, it got very stressful and I tended to prioritize schoolwork and deadlines over this. However, I showed commitment and when the busy period was over, we took out the time to get back on track with pending orders.
LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.
Working collaboratively was a major advantage behind the success of this enterprise. By working on our individual skills and helping each other to develop in the places where we were unable to flourish, I fully experienced the benefit of working collaboratively. Sometimes there were conflicts because of difference in opinion, at such times we tried our best to do objectively consider both options and do what was best for Ethereal.
