2. Reducing the weight of myself.Activity.

My purpose for selecting this CAS experience was that I wanted to stay fit and healthy as due to the lockdown I had gained weight which was not good for me as I could attract diseases to myself. so to avoid having long-term problems I had to reduce my weight. I had been doing this for 2 months and my component for this experience was activity. the activities I did to lose weight were not eating a lot of junk food and playing football and skipping by a jump rope as these were the best I knew how to reduce the weight. my weight at the start of December was 65 kgs then at the start of February it was 61kgs. which showed that I had lost weight and met my target which was to reduce 4 to 5 kgs in 2 months. this CAS experience comes under activity as there is physical exertion which contributes to a healthy lifestyle.

the learning outcomes I had chosen were 1,2,3,4. The learning outcome number 1 Identify your own strengths and develop areas for growth. I identified my strengths and weakness very fast and I feel very good that I was aware of them and turned my weakness into a strength. my strengths were that I already knew how to play the activities and I was very good at it which saved me a lot of time. my weakness was stamina as I had not been playing and doing any activities. I think that it’s important for us to know our strengths and weakness as it allows us to know what part we have to improve on and what areas we can make better. I worked on my stamina which was my weakness lot as I would get tired in almost 20 minutes and had to take a rest but after continuing to play and do more activities I had overcome the weakness and I was able to play for 40 to 60 minutes continuously without taking rest.

learning outcome number 2 was to Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.it was very challenging for me to change my routine and lose weight as I was very lazy back then and then to lose weight I had to get up from my comfort zone and work hard. I used to do similar but also very harder activities when I was in boarding where I had played 5 to 6 hours of sports every day which had me at my best. I overcame this challenge by working hard and by staying motivated that I can do it and I will. after all, of this I feel like I have done something better for myself and I am grateful for it.it will also be very useful to my future as my body has now increased immunity and a lesser risk of getting diseases.

learning outcome number 3 was to Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience. so, to organize me I had to create a routine, it was consisting of 2 months which makes it 60 days and I had taken rest on Mondays which reduces 8 days which is now 52 so every 52 days I had either done one of the activities more than 45 minutes. I am usually not an organized person but if I had to achieve it I had to lose something. also initiating the activities was more difficult than planning as planning doesn’t break a sweat but activities do, whenever I was not able to go play football I had done a home workout which did not give me any rest.

learning outcome number 4 was to show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences. this activity was very difficult it consisted of both perseverance and commitment as I had to go 6 days a week and avoid junk food which shows perseverance and commitment to not break my progress. I felt very annoyed but also good at the same time that I am not able to eat outside food but I was also losing weight and avoiding a lot of calories.

The learner profile attribute for this CAS experience is balanced as I understand the physical aspect of my life to achieve my well-being. this activity only benefited me and not others. the highlight of this CAS experience was checking my weight after 2 months and feeling relief. I achieved success by any means and I feel very good about it that I met my target and I was able to fulfill what I had started 2 months back.it had also brought me a sense of enjoyment that I can finally start to eat outside food again sometimes. I also learned a lot of things that physical health plays a big role in our lives and we should eat healthily and stay fit in order to stay healthy.

The conclusion of this CAS experience was that I had met my target by showing commitment and perseverance throughout the 2 months. I had also learned a lot about how stepping out of my comfort zone was necessary and working till I am unable to play anymore.

here are some pictures of me playing basketball and doing cardiovascular workout to reduce weight.
