Along with a few friends, I volunteered to be a part of the Organising Committee and took the role of Media Management (social) and Content Creation. Which included creating and handling the Instagram page, shooting and sharing content such as the Testimony video, creating memes and posters and managing footage. I displayed the following LOs:
LO1- Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth.
While I did have some pre-existing knowledge, I heavily developed management skills. Creating a schedule for the page, filming in school and editing post-shooting, these tasks have helped me gain more leadership skills. Which most definitely should help me with my future projects.
LO2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
Similar to Lo1, I put my knowledge to use, which did bring along several challenges. To name a few, I had 4 hours on the clock and I had to morph the students faces on movie posters and memes, while that was an entertaining task, with limited time and loads of work, it made me push myself ahead of my limit. With that, I developed Time management, conflict resolution and creative thinking.
LO4- Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.
Any project requires complete dedication, likewise, for this project, we were provided with not much time in school as it would impact the student’s studies, and not much work could be done at home. Every time slot we were provided with, was dedicated to completing the work.
LO5- Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.
I dont think I’m a team player, yet this event could not be organised alone. We worked as a team, each one assigned a specific role, I developed skills for working with people. There were some conflicts from time to time but we found our way through.
I discovered how great team projects can be, and i ended up gaining several skills which should help me in the future.
