Description of the activity and experience :
Every single person has so much that they cannot express to others, their insecurities, their struggles, and whatnot. I feel like every person has an untold story to them that needs to get unfolded, here’s where my CAS experience comes into the picture. I set up an Instagram page called kahaniyaan which means stories in Hindi. This page gives every person to come out of their shell and open up about what they’ve been hiding from others. This CAS experience consists of creativity, action, and service. For getting stories, I had to dig up through a lot of mutuals to find truly inspiring stories. After that, I had to go and interview them and then write down a story and publish it.
Learning outcome 2 :
When it comes to sharing stories about your struggles, a lot of people get very hesitant which was the most challenging part. A single story can be very inspiring and for my page especially, regular content was very important so that majority of the audience can relate. Convincing people to come out of their shells and share their stories of struggle was the biggest challenge. I tried to connect with people on an emotional level which made it easier for them to get comfortable with me and which was the sole reason why they shared their stories. I feel immense pleasure now that I have overcome this challenge because I know that I am doing a great job for everybody and that this page would help people get inspired by others’ insecurities.
Learning outcome 3 :
Managing kahaniyaan side by side by studies was a huge task. The organization was one of the key things that helped me stay on track during all of this. I am usually not a very organized person but this CAS experience definitely has made me realize how helpful it can be to plan things priorly and not end up getting late for every deadline. For me, personally, planning was the most difficult part, and initiating was slightly easier. I used to get frustrated by assigning every story some time and looking at it and realizing how hard it was gonna be but when I actually started completing all the tasks, there was no looking back. I feel like planning and initiating anything in the future would be easier now that I have experience with this CAS.
Learning outcome 5 :
Working with others has always been a very easy deal for me as I am a social person and I love doing tasks in groups. However, this CAS experience was a totally different task, it took a lot of effort from my end. I had a few people who were very tough to work with, I often used to get annoyed by them but then I felt like acting maturely was the only way through it. I thought that if I would let these people get to me then my work would get affected and I could not let that happen.
Final takeaway :
There are multiple things that I’ve learned from this CAS experience :
- I got to learn about interacting with diffuclt people and loosing my patience.
- I got to know more about editing blogs and stories.
- I learned about digital marketing and how I could make my account reach heights.
