I am a Gujarati which makes it pretty obvious that a Gujarati girl being crazy about Garba. I joined Garba classes to refresh my skills as the Navratri festival was near. I enjoy playing garba as it makes me feel joyful and most importantly it represents my culture. I joined garba classes in July and continued for 2 consecutive months.
(L1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth)
Since I have been playing garba for a really long time, I am aware of a few styles and steps but due to the lockdown, there was a 1-year long gap in between so I forgot a few styles which I needed to refresh and practice. By consistently practicing I was able to cover the weakness. It was beneficial as it helped me perform well in the Navratri festival.
(L2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken developing new skills, )
I wanted to learn more styles in garba and develop my skills in it but the biggest challenge was to regain my skills by practicing every day I was able to overcome that challenge and develop my skills as well. I have similar expertise in the years before lockdown. These learnings would help me in my future competitions and festival of Navratri. Learning and improving makes me feel excited about the festival. Learning new skills is important as this festival is very important to me.
(L4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences)
I was consistently going to classes as it was pretty exciting to go daily but it was difficult to manage my schedule regularly overall I made sure to attend daily.
