Song writing is when we write lyrics to compose and make music out of them , song writing is something that artists often do or they hire lyricists to do the same , it is the verbal aspect over the beats. In this experience I have written some lyrics expressing my feelings or opinions using the genre hip/hop.

LO-1(Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth) – My strength was that I have the ability to express things in words as I have a good vocabulary I consider , also I can rhyme words and make them make sense at the same time which gave me a good experience overall while writing songs , the problems I faced was , and where I could grow was in the area of singing as I had no experience in that field.

LO-2 (challenges undertaken, developing new skills in the process) Writing lyrics and adding tune to it was challenging. As freeing as it is venting out feeling through song writing, it takes time and patience and inspiration to compose. Finding a way around my writers block was the hardest part as I normally write when inspiration strikes but this time I felt stuck. With my relentless and not giving up attitude, I kept trying and eventually out of frustration vented it out through my music.

LO-4 (Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences) – I showed commitment and perseverance in this experience when sometimes I wasn’t satisfied with the lyrics or when sometimes the song would not come out the way I expected it to , That still didn’t stop me and I pushed through to finish what I started.

LO-6 (Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance)- The issue I dealt with here was mental health issues , as sometimes when nobody listens to what people have to say they express it in the form of art.
