→ ) I along with some of my friends decided to organize a book fair which was supposed to be a sequel to Wisdom Book Fair which was a gratitude book fair. The main theme of the book fair was that people can grab a maximum of 5 books and in return, they can donate any amount of money they want. The money which we will collect would be donated to an NGO that provided education to poor children so that they would be able to have a better future.
Lo – 3 Demonstrate how to initiate a CAS experience.
→) This was a group project which required a lot of planning. We divided the organizing committee members into a few groups each of which had a different objective. One group was supposed to collect the books from our peers, another group was supposed to organize the decor of the fair and the last group was supposed to communicate with the administration team of the school to give them constant updates regarding the fair. I can say that all the groups did their part and we managed to host a successful book fair.
Lo – 5 Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
→) This required teamwork and collaboration as it would not have been possible if any of the groups could not achieve their objective. We managed to collect over 120 books and a fund of 4000 rupees which we donated to the NGO. All the team members were happy with the outcome as without them it would not have been possible.
Lo – 6 Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
→) We tried our best to deal with illiteracy which is a global issue. We were not able to provide much but from the money, we donated we were able to make some of the poor children happy which made them more interested in their studies. It is donations like this that would ultimately lead to zero illiteracy in our country. We should always try to give back to the community and help as many people as we can.
Lo – 7 Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions
→) There were a lot of problems at the start of the project when the team members were not ready to contribute their part in the project, therefore at the last moment they decided to leave the group. They were right in their perspective that the fair would not be possible and they decided to quit leaving me alone in the project but at the last moment, I managed to convince some of my friends to join the group.2 days before the fair was held they decided to join the group and we put in all our efforts without losing hope in the end, we managed to organize the fair successfully.
