For this experience, I went to the beach with my peers. Starting from 18th September to 18th October (every weekend), 80% of the pollution is caused by plastic on the beach. It was just an initiative for a better future and to help marine life. We are also planning to expand our group and increase awareness regarding this social cause.
LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
There were way more challenges than I expected, the major ones were that we were fewer people to clean such as the whole beach in one go.
The other major challenge was the lack of basic equipment and many more.
LO3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.
To plan this service of beach cleaning the first step that I took was I gathered a few known people who could help me and society by cleaning the beach. We also had to research which is the most crowded beach in the city. I learned how to apply school knowledge in real life by using the planning techniques taught in my early years as I had to plan which place to go, how to clean, and also the amount of cleaning that needs to be done so that it will make a change.
LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.
Initially making myself consummately indulged was time-consuming. but ineluctably, I commenced relishing the activity instead of feeling the pressure on me. It was prodigiously arduous to take out the time between schoolwork, tuition, and other extracurriculars. Many times, it got very stressful and I was inclined to prioritize schoolwork and deadlines over this. However, I showed commitment and I feel that I’ve prospered with my goal and its vision.
LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.
Working collaboratively was a major advantage abaft the prosperity of beach cleaning. I plenarily experienced the benefit of working collaboratively. Sometimes we endeavored our best to do all of it at once but it was an extravagant amount to handle, instead, we did it the next morning.
