CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) is an experiential learning framework that encourages students to engage in meaningful and challenging activities outside of the classroom. As part of my CAS program, I recently started taking care of my diet. In this reflection, I will discuss my experience and what I learned.
Activity: Taking care of my diet
I have always found it difficult to maintain a balanced diet as a busy student. I did, however, come to the realisation that maintaining a healthy diet is crucial to my entire health and wellbeing. I began by reading articles on the advantages of various diets and studying wholesome foods. I then compiled a list of wholesome items that I might include in my meals every day. I began by substituting bad snacks with wholesome ones like fruits and vegetables. To make sure I was eating a balanced diet, I also started meal planning and preparing.
Service: Encouraging others to take care of their diet
As I gained knowledge about healthy eating practises, I came to understand that many individuals in my community also had trouble sticking to a healthy diet. I began to share what I had discovered about healthy eating practises with my friends and family in an effort to motivate others to take care of their diets. To encourage them to make better decisions, I also gave them recipes and suggestions for nutritious snacks.
Reflection: What I learned
Maintaining a healthy diet was difficult but gratifying. I gained knowledge on the value of a balanced diet and the advantages of consuming nutritious foods. Also, I learnt how to organize my meals in advance and choose tastier snacks and meals. I became aware of the value of information sharing and assisting others in making healthy decisions as a result of my experience encouraging people to take care of their nutrition.
I get these meals as part of my diet.
