I’ve always had an interest in social media marketing and looked forward to the same in my career as well. I wanted to gain exposure in the field and couldn’t expect a better opportunity than CAS. Desserts n more is a dessert company that is functioning for many years and has been popular in Surat. The brand was looking to grow its online interaction. Desserts n more approached me through Instagram and we finalised a contract for a month where I’ll handle their Instagram profile to increase sales and attract possible dessert enthusiasts.
LO1 – Identify your own strengths and develop areas for growth.
I have done this before as my passion, and have seen that I have been quite successful in the field. I thought that I could develop my skills even more and took up more projects that did bring on challenges but, I tried my best to overcome them and fulfil the needs of the client. Creating written content was not my cup of tea, but I took the help of my sister who has experience in content writing and managed to get better at it by practising. Creative content writing did not only help me for this task but also for other projects and helped me diversify my portfolio.
LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
LO3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.
As a student, I wasn’t able to take out a lot of time for this task. But, I did not want to give up on something that I enjoyed. I also wanted to be able to efficiently manage my studies and extracurricular activities. So to overcome this, I created a schedule that managed my extracurricular activities like football, my start-up and studies. This helped me keep my priorities and stay on the deadlines for any assignments and school work too.
LO4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.
I visited desserts n’ more as much as possible to get ideas for new and attractive ideas that will bring more attention to their social media and posted as much new content as possible to show multiple trending products and signature dishes. Filming and editing new content regularly to keep up with the terms of the contract was the most important work done.
To conclude, this project helped me develop skills as a professional in a work environment in desserts n more creating relationships with the people there and working towards something I am passionate about.
