For the third experience,I wanted to do a physical activity and so I decided to do cycling.I am very much interested in cycling and it can be considered as one of my favourite sports.Whenever I feel like doing something physical in order to feel fresh I always prefer to do cycling as it’s very enjoying and convenient. Also,I wanted to focus on my physical health because due to lock down we were all stuck at our homes and we could not do something physical which is why I decided to do cycling for one month continuously and for one hour daily.

4.Did you work/or would like to work on your weakness? Relate one area where overcoming this weakness would have benefited you.
I worked on my weaknesses by implementing all those actions which were required to work on my weaknesses .For example, to improve my endurance I first started with a small distance and then as days passed by I increased that distance. In a way I also started intaking carbohydrates in my diet which boosted my energy further leading to an increment in my endurance.
Learning Outcome 2
1.What was so challenging and why?The challenging part was increasing the distance as days passed by for example on day one I cycled one kilometer,on day two I cycled two kilometers and so on till 5 kilometers.Approximately,I cycle for total fifteen kilometers in a week which makes me feel a bit tired and due to this tiredness I can’t focus on my academics and instead feel like resting all the time.
2.Have you done anything similar before?Yes,I have done something similar before such as taking part in cycling marathons or just casually cycling to Dumas from my home.

I feel proud and appreciative of myself having undertaken this challenge since it helped me how to not give up in difficult situations and instead motivated me to keep going and going until unless I don’t achieve my ultimate goals. It is important for me to undertake new challenges in order to learn new abilities such as perseverance or commitment and also to witness my own personal growth.
5.Did you discover any skills you hadn’t known or learned yet? How could this skill be useful to you in the future? How does having this new skill make you feel about yourself? Why is it important to learn new skills?
Yes I did discovered several skills I hadn’t known or learned yet like cornering, moving up in a group, riding a pace line and etc. These skills can be useful to me in the future when I will take part in any upcoming marathons conducted in my city or maybe while riding my bicycle on roads and streets.Having these new skills makes me feel confident as now I can ride my bicycle on roads and streets without any sort of worries and fears. It is important to learn new skills as it helps us gain new knowledge and new experiences which further trains our brain to handle a wide range of challenges leading us to achieve our aims.
Learning Outcome 3
1.How did you organize yourself? I organized myself by creating a timetable.
2.Are you usually an organized person? Yes,I am an organized person and I like my schedule to be systematic so that each and every pending work could be completed on time with accuracy.
3.What was difficult? Planning or the initiating? Why? Initiating and planning both were pretty difficult.Initiating because I was not getting enough time to start this particular CAS experience due to academics, classes and preparation of entrance exams but then finally I decided to take out some time from my busy schedule to start this CAS experience.Planning because the days and the dates were clashing with some very crucial events and so I had to reframe my plan again and again.
4.Did you discover any skills you hadn’t known or learned yet that you had to use for the planning and initiating of this activity? Yes I did discover skills that I hadn’t known or learned yet that I had to use for the planning and initiating like creating a timetable with specific days, dates and timings.
5.Do you think planning or initiating anything in the future will be easier now?Yes,I think planning or initiating will be easier in the future now because I have already developed those skills and I will try my best to apply those skills in all the areas possible in order to make my work easier, faster and with greatest accuracy.
6.Why is it important to know how to plan and initiate activities? It is important to know how to plan and initiate activities because planning helps us identify and achieve our goals easily and also it helps us keep a check on our time management skills by meeting the due dates and deadlines.
Learning Outcome 4
What made this activity difficult where perseverance or commitment was necessary? How did that make you feel? Cycling fifteen kilometers a week continuously for one month was for sure very difficult and this was the area where perseverance or commitment was necessary. There were some times where I had few academic commitments and there were some times where I felt exhausted to a very great extent but my will to see myself as a more fit and healthy individual motivated me to keep moving and moving.
What commitment was required to complete this activity? My commitment towards my goals was required to complete this activity. To be a more healthier and fitter person than before can be considered as my main goal and riding fearlessly on roads with heavy traffic can be considered as my sub goal.
Is it easy for you to commit to things? To be persistent? Why or why not?Why is showing perseverance and commitment important? Yes,it’s easy for me to commit to things and be persistent but sometimes there are circumstances where I procrastinate or loose my interest which makes it harder for me to commit to things. It is important to show our perseverance and commitment because it helps us become a more hard working person which further helps us achieve success.
Final Takeaway
What learner profile characteristics have you developed in this activity?
Balanced:Balanced because I understood the importance of intellectual, physical and emotional balance to achieve a healthy well being.I personally think there was already some balance between the intellectual and emotional component but I was lacking on the physical component which is why I decided to do cycling.
There are no links between my subjects and this CAS experience and as such this activity has not benefited others. The highlight of this experience for me were days on which I cycled for five kilometers because longer the path the more I enjoyed the wind and felt fresh.Yes my perspectives or values were challenged and altered because now I have learnt to be a more hard working and a more disciplined person.I think I achieved success a little bit and this made me feel happy than before and for sure bought a sense of accomplishment to me.From this experience I improved upon my cycling abilities by overcoming my weaknesses and challenges and by learning new skills and techniques which will further help me in my life whenever I will do cycling again. If I did this activity again I would like to increase the distance upto seven kilometers because I think it will be more adventurous and fun.I am going to apply this learning in the future when I will participate in cycling marathons or when I will travel long distances.I wish to contribute to the society by spreading as much information as I can about the significance of our physical health because as we are growing up our focus is more on academics compared to our health which can lead to severe negative consequences in the future and so we can keep ourselves healthy and fit through any type of physical activity we thoroughly enjoy.
